Investigation of Reservoir Temperature of the Afyon-Sandıklı Hüdai Geothermal System
Abstract :
Sandıklı-Hüdai geothermal field is located approximately 40 km southwest of the province capital of Afyon. The study area consists of volcanic, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. Reservoir rocks of Hüdai geothermal field are quartzites. The use of geothermal fluids depend on temperature. Therefore, reservoir temperature of geothermal systems in Hüdai area has been investigated. According to the Na-K-Mg triangular diagram geothermal fluids in Afyon-Sandıklı geothermal area belongs to immature waters group. In this study area, geochemical silica thermometers show reservoir temperatures of geothermal waters ranging from 85 to 120 °C. Enthalpy-silica and enthalpy-chloride mixing models suggest reservoir temperatures between 108 and 134 °C and 98 and 120 °C, respectively for the geothermal fluids. The average reservoir temperature obtained for the Hüdai geothermal field is 110 oC.
