Title Of Article :
Estimating Land Surface Temperature of İzmir’s City Center by Using Satellite Data
Abstract :
Land Surface Temperature (LST) is an important parameter because of controlling energy exchange between the earth’s surface and atmosphere. Further more it is used developing quantity of many environment models, such as climatic variability, energy and water change, numerical weather prediction, global water circulation, drought index and frost. In this study, thermal channels (channel 4 and 5) of NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration)/AVHRR (Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer) data and LST algorithms (Price-1984, Becker and Li-1990, Ulivieri et al.-1994) were used together for getting LST values. At the end of statistical studies which were done for İzmir city, RMSE (Root Mean Squared Error) values of Price-1984, Becker and Li-1990, Ulivieri et al.-1994 algorithms were found 3,6150 °K; 2,2430 °K; 2,3905 °K respectively. The research verities pose that Becker and Li–1990, Ulivieri et al.-1994 algorithms can be used to estimate LST for İzmir city.
