Investigation of the Contribution of Jet Grouting to Soil Improvement and the Effects of the Parameters Used in This Method
Abstract :
In this study, the relation between unconfined compressive strengths of jet grout columns which is generated with jet grouting method, parameters which are used in this method and soil properties before improvement were examined. Success of analyses were examined in determining unconfined compressive strengths of jet grout columns using fussy logic and multiple regression analysis methods and determination coefficient was calculated about 0.91 in both methods. Results are presented by tables and graphs. As entry parameter in analyses; injection pressure, standard penetration number, lifting speed, nozzle diameter and fine grain ratio were used. Jet grout column’s unconfined compressive strengths were obtained as output and they were compared with actual measured values. Among the parameters which are used in multiple regression analysis, the most efficient parameter is lifting speed, the least efficient parameter is standard penetration number were determined. It has been observed that jet grout column’s unconfined compressive strengths increase with increasing standard penetration number and nozzle diameter, and decrease with increasing fine grain ratio and lifting speed examined.
