Population Development of Tomato Leafminer at Greenhouse and Field Conditions in Intensive Tomatoes Growing Areas (Hatipler and Koyunbeyli) of Uşak Province

Abstract
Tomato is one of the most important vegetables growing in Turkey. There are a lot of diseases and pests fed on tomato and among of theme, tomato leaf miner, Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) has an important role. It feeds on all parts above ground and can damage of 100% when it doesn’t control. This study carried out at tomato field areas in Koyunbeyli village and at tomato field areas and tomato greenhouses in Hatipler village of Uşak province. Populations of T. absoluta were observed by feromon traps and visual methods. As a result, numbers of adult in the traps were counted as 483 per week in greenhouses, and 351 and 144 per week at Hatipler and Koyunbeyli villages, respectively. Infestation rates at leaves were 52% in greenhouses and 10% and 12% per week at Hatipler and Koyunbeyli villages, respectively. Infestation rates at fruits were 26% in greenhouses and 7% and 8% per week at Hatipler and Koyunbeyli villages, respectively.
