Abstract :
Aim of this study is to investigate effect of Science Teaching Laboratory I-II lessons including activities based problem solving skills on preservice science teachers’ metacognitive problem solving skills and creativity. Study group in this research was consists of 29 junior students who are studying in the department of Elementary Science Teacher Education in Faculty of Education in Adnan Menderes University. In this research creativity scale and self-regulated strategy scale used in problem solving scale were used to collect data. Data was assessed with one way ANOVA for related samples. Students’ answers to creativity scale were handled in terms of flexibility, fluidity and authenticity dimensions of creativity. Considering students’ pretest and posttest scores in creativity scales, significant difference in favor of posttest was found. When investigated of relation between metacognitive problem solving strategies and creativity, there was no correlation among pretest scores, but also there was significant correlation among intermediate test scores and among post test scores.
