THE CONSTRUCTIVIST LEARNING APPROACH OF THE SCIENTIFIC SCIENTIFIC TEACHERS AND CLASSROOM TEACHER CANDIDATES LEVELS OF UNDERSTANDING THE STAGES OF THE 5E MODEL
Abstract :
Science Curriculum overhauled by National Education Ministry in the year of 2013 is prepared in accordance with research and inquiry based-teaching approach and practices for the classroom process are planned with parallel to 5E model. The aim of this study is to determine the level of understanding of the 5E model and phases based on the constructivist learning approach of Science and Teacher Teachers candidates. Descriptive-scanning model was used in the study. The participants of the research are 8 Science Teachers who work in Turkish National Education Ministry and 42 classroom teacher candidates who study in a government university. In order for 5E model comprehension levels to be determined, lesson plans received for teachers and teacher candidates are evaluated through Lesson Plan and Activities According to 5E Model Rubrik Score Form that includes 36 items and has been developed by researchers. The obtained data were analyzed content, descriptive and predictive analysis methods. The findings of the research point out that teachers and teacher candidates have some problems with understanding 5E model and using different method and techniques.
