COMPARING OF PROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE FOR BRANCHES BETWEEN SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHERS AND SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER CANDIDATES
Abstract :
The aim of this research is to determine and compare the levels of professional attitudes towards the branches of Social Studies teachers and teacher candidates. The research was conducted with the 101 Social Studies’ teachers who worked in state and private middle schools in Niğde and 321 teacher candidates who are studying at the Faculties of Aksaray University, Adnan Menderes University and Bartın University in the Spring term of 2016-2017 academic year. Correlative investigation model was designed in this research. Attitude scale of Social Studies teachers towards their profession was applied by the researchers to study group. Data were analyzed with SPSS 24 statistical packet program. The most important result, based on the findings of this research, Social studies teachers’ and teacher candidates’ levels of professional attitudes towards the their branches are close to each other.
