Abstract :
The aim of this study is to determine teacher’s view about using smart boards in Visual Arts lesson. The attendants of the research consist of 13 teachers who study at different cities and different schools in 2014-2015 academic year and who use smart boards in Visual Arts lesson and who have accepted to take place in this research voluntarily. In this study, qualitative research method and interview form have been used with the aim of data acquisition. The interview form consists of 10 questions. Before being applied, the form was presented to the expert opinion and then it was applied after necessary changes. After the interviews with the teachers, the findings of the content analysis were revealed. As a result of the findings, it has been concluded that the teachers have learnt the usage of the smart boards through an in-service training, that they are insufficient in the usage of smart boards, that smart boards affect the academic success of the students positively, that smart board has provided some advantages to the students such as making them active and providing visual learning. The teachers have expressed that the commonest problems which they encounter while using smart boards are the limited gallery for Visual Arts lesson, lack of substructure and the difficulty of access to the internet. Also it has been observed that the teachers have proposed that the substructure and technical problems should be eliminated, the curriculum of Visual Arts lesson should be prepared in accordance with the smart board and different programs should be used in accordance with the Visual Arts lesson.
