PROSTHETIC REHABILITATION OFA RETROGNATHIA SUPERIOR CASE
Abstract :
The aim of this study was to treat a retrognathie superior patient who did not want orthognatic surgery by prosthetic approach.A55 years old male patient suffering from poor aesthetic, phonetic and function had anterior and buccal crossbite in intraoral examination. Depending on Steiner’s cephalometric analysis, the case was diagnosed as skeletal Class III because of maxillar retrognathie. Prosthetic treatment was completed with maxillary coping, ball attachments and overdenture. Desired overjet-overbite relations, facial aesthetics and function were obtained. Clinicians should consider patients’ age and systematic problems when planning the treatment. The prosthodontic approach may be an alternative treatment choice for adults who have had inadequate orthodontic treatment or orthognatic surgery failure.
