Abstract :
Since the fuel costs of conventional energy sources get incredibly high and the energy requirement is increased the systems that produce electrical energy from the sun become considerably popular. However, first construction cost of systems that produce electricity from sun (PV systems) are high and their efficiencies are low. Therefore it is considerably important to benefit from these systems. PV systems place with constant angle, in general. Certainly simplest way to ensure this is to track the sun instantly. However sun tracking systems consume electricity and their costs are high. Therefore it is important to determine the correct angles that the PV modules must be placed. In this study the angle of PV module that are considered to be placed at Afyonkarahsar for April of 2012 to get aximum efficiency from the sun is determined using solar radiation data collected from the region. It is possible to convert the solar radiation values into surfaces with different tilt angles. Furthermore, it is possible to use the proposed method for any region in the world simply altering the parameters to find optimum tilt angles.
