Title Of Article :
Effects of Soils with Different Properties on Natural Period of Structure at RC High Rise Building
Abstract :
Soil structure interaction can cause important effects on structure dependent on soil and structure. Soil structure interaction with these effects provides a positive contribution to the behavior of this structure at most of the time. But sometimes these effects make worse structure behavior. Young’s Modulus of soil has an important role in this interaction. In this study, effects of soils with different young’s modulus on high rise building according to soil structure interaction were investigated. For this, 5- storey, 10-storey and 15-storey building models are created on the soils with 7 different soil properties were analyzed by finite element method. Values of period and acceleration (PSA) according to different earthquake spectrum were compared with each other for different soils. As a result of the comparison, at soft soils (lower values of young’s modulus), soil-structure interaction on periods causes important influential changes on dynamic characteristic of RC high-rise building.
