Investigation of Hydrogeological Properties of Efteni Lake (Düzce) Wetland and Its Surroundings
Abstract :
In this study, geological, hydrological and hydrogeological characteristics of the Efteni Lake and its surroundings were investigated. In addition, hydrogeochemical properties, availability and pollution assessments were performed. Alluvium is the most important aquifer in the study area and groundwater depth is ranged from 1 to 3.5 m according to groundwater level measurements in May (2013). In situ measurements and chemical analyzes were carried out on water resources taken in the same period. According to the obtained results, surface and groundwater is Ca-HCO3 and Ca-Mg- HCO3 facies. All water samples are suitable for the irrigation water. However, water samples taken from specific locations are not suitable for drinking water in terms of NO2, NH4, As and Mn depend on waterrock interaction and anthropogenic factors.
