Abstract :
İnkjet decoration, especially in the past decade, is increasingly spreading a decoration method in different application fields. In ceramic industry this decoration method has more advantages due to being applied to the different patterns, being a shorter setup time in the process of switching, the three-dimensional decoration possibility, and the less need of pigment and of less ink waste. İnkjet inks are suspensions which consist of mostly inorganic pigments or complex metal oxides. İnorganic pigments are preferred due to the fact that has more color stability than the organic ones. Inorganic pigments, used in inks, are prepared with nanosize to reduce the tendency of wear and clogging in piezo-ceramic nozzles. This study discusses the production of nano-size brown pigments by grinding method and also optimum grinding parameters to be determined.
