Abstract
In this study, lead-free potassium sodium niobate (KNN) piezoelectric ceramics were fabricated in bulk and fiber forms. Microstructural and electrical properties were explained based on structure-property relationship. KNN fibers were fabricated by a novel alginate gelation method. 1-3 piezocomposites were fabricated by embedding the fibers into a polymer matrix. Dielectric constants of pure, CuO added and Li-doped KNN samples were calculated as 316, 335 ve 560 at 100 kHz, respectively. This value is 191 for CuO-KNN/epoxy composite containing 70 vol% ceramic fibers. The maximum strain value of pure KNN at 50 kV/cm is 0.04 % and 0.10 % for the other samples.
