Pozzolan Additives Effect on Mechanical and Physical Properties of Steam Cure Aerated Concrete
Abstract :
In this study, aerated concrete mixture were prepared, fly ash was used instead of silica sand and %3, %6, %9, %12 ratios of silica fume is substituted in cement that used as a binder. Mixture were allowed 24 hours in an oven at 75 °C temperature after pouring the into molds 10 cm sides. Steam curing was applied on demolded samples at 80 °C for 8 hours. The effectiveness of pozzolan additives were investigated on aerated concrete that performed of compressive strength, unit weight and ultrasonic transit time experiments. Also the microstructures of samples were investigated by SEM and XRD analysis. According to the results, similar results were obtained of pozzolan additives aerated concrete on mechanical and physical properties between commercial aerated concrete.
