An Investigation of Usability of Yatağan Fly Ash in Structural Areas
Abstract :
In this study, the usability of Yatağan fly ash (FA) in lightweight aggregated block production isinvestigated. Fly ash was used in the ratio of %10, %20, %30 of the weight of cement. The effect of fly ash on lightweight aggregated block which were produced a total of 12 series including Pumice,Diatomite and Tuff with maximum 16 mm aggregate size; was determined by conducting compressive strength, capillarity and ultrasound pulse velocity experiments. According to the 7 and 28days experiment results, the positive effect of Yatağan Fly Ash is obtained by tuff sample with the ratio of %10 to cement and for ditaomite and pumice blocks it was obtained at ratio %20. However this positive effect diminished for all three aggregates when the fly ash percent was up to %30.
