Abstract :
One of the main objectives is to optimized the machining level of the desired surface roughness. In this study, in the manufacturing industry, which widely use the hardness of 46 HRC AISI 1040 steel is machined on a CNC lathe under the dry cutting conditions. Experiment list with Taguchi L9 was created to obtain the optimum surface roughness according to the parameters of cutting speed, feed rate and cutting depth. At the end of these experiments, surface roughness (Ra) values have been measured. For the measured Ra values, first degree regression and logarithmic regression models were created by utilizing MINITAB14 program. The closest results of the test results in regression models which created for Ra, was obtained by first degree regression model. Feed rate has been found the optimum parameters by the created regression models. In the result of the guess experiments, the accuracy of mathematical equations have been found to be about 90%.
