Title Of Article :
Design of FSM‐Based A New MSK Architecture
Abstract :
In Today, energy efficiency is one of the most significant issues for communication systems. In software defined radio applications, resource utilization affects directly energy fficiency. The modulation technique is very important for communication systems with multiple useruserssuch as OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency‐Division Multiplexing). It is important that resource utilization and energy efficiency of modulation technique is reduced without reducing maximum operating frequency of that for these communication systems. In this paper, a new MSK (Minimum Shift Keying)transmitter architecture is proposed. The structure is realized on FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) complier Quartus programmer, and is applied real‐time on FPGA hardware. The proposed MSK transmitter consumes lesser power than conventional MSK. Moreover, resource utilization of proposed MSK modulator is reduced to eleminate operational blocks. In this paper, another important issue is bit number of the digital signal which creates MSK signal. The user determines bit number of MSK signal in our architecture. Yet, adder and multiplier used in conventional MSK increase bit number which represents output signal. In order to show digital MSK signal as analog, particular DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) can be necessary. This case increases complexity of the transmitter. If same DACs are selected for conventional and proposed MSK, a division blocks is necessary in output of conventional MSK. However, this status can be cause distortion of signal, increase complexity of the system, and decrease of the architecture.
