Title Of Article :
Applicability of Micro Arc Oxidationto Additive Manufactured Metals
Abstract :
Selective Laser Melting was used to create specimens from aluminium and its alloys. Aluminium has low wear strength and corrosion resistance. Micro Arc Oxidation (MAO) was studied to improve its surface properties. Bipolar pulse mode was used with MAO system. Typical experimental parameters are explored for enhancing the surface performance of additively manufactured part. The X‐ray diffraction (XRD) technique, scanning electron microscope (SEM), surface roughness (Ra) and indentation tests were employed to investigate the phase distribution, microstructure, surface properties and hardness of the coatings respectively. In conclusion, the MAO system is applicable for the Additive Manufactured metals.
