Abstract :
Electronic Tools for Translators by Frank Austermühl is a reference book, which fills the gap between translation and information technologies. The author addresses not only to trainees of translation, but also to professional translators who strive to keep up wih the recent technologies to cope with the increasing demand for translation in international arena.The book consists of ten chapters, focussing on basic electronic tools necessary for professional translators of information age. Each chapter first desribes and explains the goals of the subject it deals with; next, discusses their position in translation process by explaining the operative principles, features and criteria for evaluation. At the end of each chapter Frank Austermühl supports his claims by submitting case studies and tasks that intergrate electronic tools into translator trainining.
