Our journal has reached its fourth issue despite the long refereeing process and the bureaucratic procedures to be fulfilled as an academic journal. Although we have done our best as a team it was not possible to issue it any earlier. We hope to reach you sooner for our next issue. This issue offers four academic papers and three articles of commemoration. Translation Studies scholars in Turkey suffered two losses in 2012, it has been a year of grief and sorrow for us. Two of our beloved colleagues passed away: One because of an unexpected, sudden and unbelievable accident and other at the end of a long and dignified fight with an uncurable diasese. We decided to issue articles on these beloved friends by their colleagues in our field in Turkey to be able to commemorate them as well as introducing them to those who have not known them with their contribution to the field as researchers and academicians. Aslı Takanay and Meral Camcı commemorate Ebru Gültekin Ilıcalı and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Berk Albachten commemorates Assist. Prof. Dr. Elif Daldeniz Baysan. We also lost German scholar and academician Prof. Wolfram Wills in 2012, who was known with his contribution to our field from years ago during his visits to Istanbul University. Prof. Turgay Kurultay commemorates Prof. Wolfram Wills with his article on his work and endeavour.
