Abstract :
In this study, physicochemical treatability of wastewater of a tile industry located in Malatya was investigated in two samples taken at various times. For this aim, Al2(SO4)3x18H2O, FeCl3x6H2O and Agrofloc 100 were sellected as coagulants and total solid matter (TS) and suspended solid matter (SS) removal efficiencies were investigated. These coagulants were used at dosages of 100, 200, 300 and 400 ppm and optimum coagulant dosages were determined. In sample I, highest removal efficiencies of TS and SS were achieved for 100 ppm dosages for all coagulants used. The highest TS and SS removel efficiencies were obtained by FeCl3x6H2O. In sample II, the highest TS and SS removal efficiencies were achieved by 400 ppm Al2(SO4)3x18H2O and 400 ppm Agrofloc 100, respectively. SS removal efficiencies achieved by 200 ppm Al2(SO4)3x18H2O and 200 ppm FeCl3x6H2O were similar to the efficiency achieved by 400 ppm Agrofloc 100.
