Abstract :
In this work, in the context of usability of warm (30°C) water drawn from the wells drilled for CO2 production near Aksaray University campus, integration of geothermal heat pump with the existing hydronic heating system is considered. A water-water type heat pump system with 2,5 kW compressor power was installed for this purpose. The heat pump system produces hot water at 70°C for heating system using the geothermal resource at 30°C. The gas R134a was used as cooler fluid, and COP of the heat pump was measured between 2.15 and 2.75 depending on the source temperature. Economical viability of the system is shown by comparing with alternative systems.
