Biomass potential of Malatya city and energy production
Abstract :
Demand of energy has increased in the parallel to the developing technology the increasing population. The search of alternative and renewable energy sources instead of non-renewable energy sources continues. Among the renewable resources; the biomass energy is an important energy source which should be enhanced. In this study, the potential of the biomass which has different and important position according to having both available potential and technology was evaluated. In this research, average dry biomass amount per year and its thermal (calorific) value were calculated for Malatya City. In addition, some suggestions were presented to benefit from biomass potential efficiently and broadly for Malatya.
