Abstract
An algorithm has been developed due to tool path generation for pocket machining with island operations on CNC machine center. For instance, firstly an offsetting algorithm was developed that calculate position of tool according to profile. At the next phase too, eliminating of the offsetting errors which may cause plunge and leftover was ensured. For this process an error elimination method that referred valid items owning shared properties was developed. Pocket profiles and island profiles was offset respectively to inside and outside in the progress of obtaining tool path. The incorrect features of lines and arcs which were obtained at the end of the offsetting progress were determined and then with error elimination method the invalid items were thrown away. Tool paths were generated by using obtained valid offset lines.
