Abstract :
This study is designed to investigate graduate students’ argumentation and scientific thinking skills (e.g. problem solving) desired to be learned in science and technology courses. For this reason, 15 first year of graduate student who completed necessary coursework were selected as target group in 2013. Among them, ten students agreed to participate in the study. Students dealt with a scientific question posed and tried to solve as individual and in groups, and then developed arguments with the use of their thoughts to support their responses. As a result, participants indicated that the questions asked to them initiated their thinking and such a question could promote thinking skills and problem solving approaches.
