Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the attitudes of gifted students towards teaching of social sciences with stories. The results obtained from this purpose were examined in terms of some variables (such as gender, age, class and education status of the family). The population of the study includes the students studying in Science and Art Education Center in the academic year 2011-2012. The sample of the study was purposive selected from the students of 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th graders in Science and Art Education Center and the number of sample is 260. An attitude scale consisting of 22 items was developed and implemented to those 260 randomly selected students in order to determine their attitudes towards teaching of social studies with stories. The data obtained were analyzed by using t-test and one-way analysis of variance. When the findings are evaluated, it has been observed that gifted students agreed with the items related with interest, success and motivation on the attitudes towards teaching of social studies with stories whereas they agreed with the items related with skill and curiosity to some extent. It has been concluded that gender, age, class and education status of the family are not the variables that can create a significant difference
