Abstract :
The voters stay under the impact of various factors during the elections that are the most integral part of democracy. The candidate image and factors building up this image hold significant impact on the choices of voters particularly before local elections. This questionnaire study has been maintained before March 30, 2014 Local Elections in district of Isparta so as to measure the impact of candidate image on the choices of voters that is defined as the whole of impressions left in the memory of voter. As a result of the study, it has been found out that personal characteristics (experience, integrity, diligence, trustworthiness), appearance, communication skill, experience and socio-cultural identity of the candidate have been attached great attention while prescient attributes of the candidate, his/her feasible projects and political party in the power have not been considered significant by the voters.
