Abstract :
In this study, validity and reliability analysis of three data collection instruments related to children’s peer relations namely Ladd Profilet Child Behavior Scale (CBS), Victimization Scale (VS) and Picture Sociometry Scale (PSS) has been performed considering four-year-old Turkish children. The sample of the study consisted of 300 children for CBS and VS and 166 children for PSC respectively as two groups from four-year-old age groups attending pre-school in Denizli. While analysing data, for the validity analysis of CBS, confirmatory factor analysis was performed as construct validity and the correlation between subscales was examined. For content validity, an expert was consulted. For the validity analysis of VS and PSS, content validity was carried out. In order to determine the reliability of the scales, among the internal reliability analysis methods, coefficient of internal consistency, item analysis was carried out and test-retest reliability was determined. According to the results, for four-year-old children CBS and VS are valid and reliable instruments while PSS is valid but not reliable.
