Title Of Article :
Determination of Agricultural Properties of Some Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) Varieties Grown under Irrigated Conditions of Erzurum
Abstract :
The objective of this study was to determined the agronomic performance of some safflower varieties grown under irrigated conditions of Erzurum. During the growing seasons 2001, 2002 and 2003, field experiments were conducted to evaluate the agronomic performance of safflower (3 varieties) under Erzurum-Pasinler agro-ecological conditions. Seed yield, plant height, first branch height, branch number, head number, head diameter, 1000 seed weight, oil percentage and hull rate were examined in this study. The experiment was designed as randomized block model with four replications. According to three years’ averages, Dinçer obtained the highest seed yield with 89.147 kg/da, plant height, first branch height, head diameter and the hull ratio respectively, 100.47 cm, 46.87 cm, 2.22 cm ve %76.66 from Yenice cultivar, number of branches, number of heads, 1000 grain weight and fat ratio respectively 10.09 number/plant, 40.66 number, 44.38 g ve %21.36 from Remzibey-05 cultivar was obtained.
