Abstract
The study was conducted to show the difference between a candidate variety, Dadaş, and the other cress cultivars, which was submitted to registration trials. Morphological properties of plant were determined as compared to the other present varieties in Ankara and Erzurum conditions. Eighteen characteristics related to plant height, plant width, leaf shape, leaf number, leaf length and petiole length were determined as morphological characteristics using UPOV documents for identify cultivar differentiation. In the study, packaged cress seeds being sold in seed market were used as control. The results of the study showed that cress “Dada ş” is different from present garden cress varieties. It was decided that this variety would be submitted to the registration trials. It has been identified that not registered cress seeds are sold in seed market.
