Determination of Heavy Metal Pollution in Karasu River and Classification of Water Quality
Abstract :
Water samples were collected from 5 different point of Karasu River in order to determine Copper (Cu), Zinc (Zn), Manganese (Mn), Lead (Pb), Nickel (Ni), Cadmium (Cd) and Iron (Fe) concentrations for 12 months. It was found that the differences between the sampling points with rescpect to all of the analyzed heavy metals were significant (p 0.05). Although the Month X Sampling points interactions were significant (p 0.05) the changes throughout the months for each heavy metal were not statistically significant (p 0.05). The river is exposed to considerable contamination.
