Abstract :
The study was conducted in Iğdır ecological conditions in 2010-2011. The aim of the study was to determine the effects of GA3 applications on the fruit quality in the ‘0900-Ziraat’ sweet cherry cultivar grafted onto a seven-year-old Gisela-5 rootstock. Sweet cherry trees cv. ‘0900-Ziraat’ were sprayed with GA3 consisted of 0 (control), 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 ppm GA3 same trees when fruit color was straw-yellowat the two years. In the study, sweet cherry fruits were evaluated in terms of and chemical characteristics such as; fruit weight (g), width (mm), length (mm), seed weight (g), flesh weight (g), fruit puncture resistance (g/1.75 mm pit diameter), peduncle length (mm), peduncle weight (g), soluble solid content (%), pH, ascorbic acit (mg/l). It was found that according to different GA3 applications increased fruit weight by 10.71%, width by 6.33%, length by 5.20%, seed weight by 26.67%, peduncle length by 9.73%, fruit puncture resistance by 3.40%, pH by 10.20%, ascorbic acid by 81.95% in comparison with the control. As a result, in Iğdır ecological conditions, to improve fruit quality of sweet cherry, the ideal doses of GA3 application were determined to be between 20 and 40 ppm.
