Abstract :
This study was done laboratory conditions at Ataturk University, Faculty of Agriculture in 2011. Redroot amaranth (Amaranthus retroflexus L.) and lamb s quarters (Chenepodium album L.) weeds were made silage at different stage (first bloom and full bloom) and with different additives (control, 1 % salt and 5% barley folded). Research was established the completely randomized design and it was carried out 2 x 3 factorial arrangement and 3 replications. Incubating silages were opened to determining for rates of dry matter, crude protein, ADF and NDF, silage pH and physical evaluation after 90 days of ensiling. According to the results, dry matter, ADF and NDF rates of silages increased with delaying harvest stage, but crude protein content decreased. Additives affected on pH and quality class of silages positively. But harvest stage and additives factors were insufficient for obtain good quality silage in these weeds. Therefore different additives and their rates should be investigated for these weeds silages.
