Abstract :
In this study, it was investigated the effects of nymph+ New Generation Sunpest Adult (NGSA) densities (mean 10 net) on zeleny sedimentation (ZS), modified zeleny sedimentation (MZS) and gluten index values (GI) on Bezostia, Ceyhan 99, Cumhuriyet 75, Dariel, Gönen 98, Nurkent which were bread wheat, and Cosmidor, Fırat 93, Svevo and Sarıçanak, which were durum wheat at the 25 field in different ecosystems in Southeast Anatolia during 2007-2008. On the bread wheat varieties, it was shown that 3.2-70.0 nymph+NGSA/10 net densities reduced ZS value to 4.8-50.8%, MZS value to 8.2-86.8 % and GI value to 1.3- 60.0% and on the durum wheat varieties, 3.1-71.5 nymph+NGSA/10 net densities reduced ZS value to 8.9-25.0%, MZS value to 16.0-65.4% and GI value to 1.3-60.0 %. In conclusion, regarding the quality parameters, it was revealed that wheat varieties were affected differently by Sunnpest damage. Therefore, it would be more suitable to cultivate the wheat variety, Ceyhan 99 that less affected by Sunnpest damage in the areas, where the pest was a severe problem.
