Polymorphism of Prolactin Gene in the East Anatolian Red Crosbreds

Abstract
In this study, in the native East Anatolian Red Crosbreds, different polymorphic site of Prolactin gene was examined by PCRRFLP method and the gene and genotype frequencies were determined. In the analysis of 5’UTR, we used HaeIII while RsaI restriction enzyme for exon 4. PCR-RFLP analysis was resulted with monomorphic genotype for 5’UTR in the population. AA, AB and BB genotype frequencies in exon 4 were 0.49, 0.44 and 0.07 for crosbreeds EAR. In RsaI polymorphic site of the prolactin exon 4 the population was in the H-W equilibrium (p 0.05).
