Determination of Yield and Quality Characteristics of Some Cultivars and Populations of Tall Fescue (Festuca arundinaceae Schreb.) in Çukurova Region
Abstract :
This study was conducted to determine the yield and quality characteristics of some tall fescue cultivars and populations during the years of 2009-2011 at the East Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute. The field experiment was arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications. In the research, dry matter yields, contents of crude protein, ADF, NDF and DDM as well as RFV of three cultivars and two populations of tall fescue were studied. It was concluded that Eta and Hykor cultivars could be used successfully in the pasture establishment under Çukurova Conditions.
