    Quail Products Consumption Levels and Habits in Urban Area of Tokat Province

  • Abstract
    In the present study, quail products (meat and egg) consumption habits and levels were investigated in urban area of Tokat Province. Data were obtained from the questionnaires conducted over 96 consumers in 2008. According to the results, 33.33% of the households consumed quail meat (1.13 kg/month/family) and 45.83% of the consumers consumed quail egg (30.59 eggs/year/family). The households consumed quail egg a lot of various reasons. Quail meat consumption was significantly related to the education level and employment status of family members and monthly household income. The quail egg consumption had also significant relationships with age and education level of the person, and monthly income of the household.
