COMPARISION OF DRY AND WET PERIODS WITH THE HELP OF SOME DROUGHT INDEXES IN İKİKARA WATERSHED
Abstract :
In this study Yozgat – Sorgun İkikara river basins rainfall were investigate for drought from 1990 to 2004 water years. For this purpose, the Modified Fournier Index (MFI), Bagnouls-Gaussen Drought Index (BGI), Erosivity Index (EI) and Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) were used to determine wet and dry years. The variation of watershed flows which occurred in meteorologically dry and wet years was investigated. Indexes were compared with each other, taking into account for watershed flows. Except Bagnouls Gaussian İndex, all indexes have described hydrological drought in accordance with meteorological drought.
