Abstract :
This study was conducted to determine bread wheat cultivars which were grown in Tokat-Zile vegetation conditions of some important agricultural and plant properties in 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 growing seasons. In the experiment, twenty bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars were used. The experiment was designed as a Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. Seeds were sown with a density of 500 plants per square meter. Fertilizer rates were applied as 100 kg N and 60 kg P_2O_5 per hectare. All of the phosphorus fertilizer was applied at sowing while half the nitrogen fertilizer was given at sowing and the other half prior to jointing stage. In this study, heading period, maturity period, plant height, the number of spike per square meter, spike length, the number of seed per spike, spike yield, thousand seed weight, test weight and harvest index were evaluated. There were significant differences among cultivars for some evaluated characters. Acccording to the results of a two-year average; the highest grain yield (452.0 kg/da) were obtained from cultivar Bezostaja 1, while cultivar Yakar-99 has produced the lowest grain yield (258.4 kg/da). According to results, it was concluded that cultivars Sönmez-2001, Ekiz, Harmankaya and Konya 2002 was promising for Tokat-Zile conditions on high grain yields and yield components.
