Title Of Article :
Determination of Yield and Quality Characteristics of Some Durum Wheat (Triticum durum L.) Cultivars and Lines under Tokat-Zile Conditions
Abstract :
The research was conducted to determine yield, yield components and some quality characters of different durum wheat genotypes in Tokat-Zile conditions during 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 growing seasons. In the study, 4 durum wheat (Triticum durum L.) lines and 16 durum wheat cultivars were used. The experiment was designed as a Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. Seeds were sown with a density of 500 plants per square meter. Fertilizer rates were applied as 10 kg N and 6 kg P_2O_5 per decare. While half of the nitrogen and all of the phosphorus was applied at sowing, the other half of the nitrogen was applied prior to jointing stage. In the research the average of genotypes heading period 167.9 day, the number of spike per square meter 434 number, plant height 82.2 cm, spike length 5.9 cm, the number of kernels per spike 31 number, single spike yield 1.60 g, thousand-seed weight 47 g, test weight 80.3 kg, grain yield 403.5 kg/da, harvest index 39.8%, vitreousness 93.7%, sedimentation value 21.4 ml and protein content 12.4% was determined. Significant differences were determined among genotypes in investigated traits. Also, significant differences were determined among years in terms of other investigated traits except for spike length, thousand-seed weight, test weight and protein content. According to the averages of a two-year; the highest grain yield (461.5 kg/da) were obtained from cultivar Altıntaç 95, while cultivar Uniya were obtained the lowest grain yield (342.8 kg/da). According to the results obtained, Altıntaç 95 and Dumlupınar from cultivars, Gdem-12 and Hat-20 from lines were prominent in terms of yield and quality in Tokat-Zile conditions.
