Title Of Article :
Effects of Different Clone Candidates on Potted Grape Sapling
Abstract :
In this study, clone candidates of Besni, Horoz Karası and Hatun Parmağı grape varieties and 1103 Paulsen rootstock were used as plant material. The objective of the research was to determine whether or not the clone candidates have any effects on sapling performance and quality. Clone candidates of grape varieties were grafted on 1103 Paulsen rootstock. Grafted cuttings were planted in a greenhouse after callus formation and were grown for two months after planting. All varieties were evaluated separately. The experimental design was arranged in randomized plots design with 3 replications with 30 grafted cuttings in each plot. Sapling performance values varied between 36.4-74.5 % in Besni grape variety, between 28.3-61.8 % in Horoz Karası grape variety and between 25.5-61.8 % in Hatun Parmağı grape variety. Sapling performance values of grape varieties significantly varied based on clone candidates. It was concluded based on current findings that sapling performance might be influenced by grapevine yield and vegetative development.
