Abstract :
A combine harvester is a machine used to harvest grains such as wheat, rye, barley, oats, corn, sunflower, canola, flax, soybean, etc. It is used instead of using separate machines for harvesting, threshing, separation, cleaning procedures and at the same time stores and carries grain. This harvester machine combines all these functions into one machine. It is indispensable for agriculture. Due to a complex structure of tasks there must be a relationship between the parts of combines for doing their tasks well. These relationships have been tried to give in different literature but has not been studied in relation to the application with the combine harvester. In this study the relationship between the design parameters of different combine brands and models are examined and compared with the theoretical data. Except for a combine harvester model examined the reel peripheral speeds are lower than 2.7 m/s. The lowest reel index is 0.45 and the biggest on is 1.77. The reel height ranged from 1.17 m to 2.11 m. Cutting width, cylinder length, concave surface area, straw walkers area and sieve area ratio (B/L/A/S/E) are determined as 1/0.27/0.19/1.16/1.03. The ratio of power to cutting width is 39ç 70 kW/m.
