Abstract :
Today, increasing energy demand and environmental factors make it necessary to investigate new energy sources and to evaluate currently used energy production technologies. Most of the lignite reserves in our country form low thermal value sources. This necessitates the use of resources in thermal power plants. Seyitömer Lignite Plant located in Kütahya Province is among the enterprises that are used in thermal power plants and supplied lignite to the market. In this study, the extraction and processing of lignite was investigated by the exergy analysis method, and the losses in the process were determined. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the biggest losses occurred in the coal washing plant and the removal and transport of the cargo.
