Evidence Based Practice For Preventing Infection that Frequently Encountered in the Intensive Care Unit
Abstract :
Health care–associated infections from invasive medical devices in the intensive care unit are a major threat to patient safety, associated with increased morbidity, mortality, and health care costs. The rate of nosocomial infections is about 5-10% at the hospital but this rate increased more than 20-25% in the intensive care units. Nurses who work during a day in intensive care unit must be effective for prevention of infection that have negative effects in treatment and patient care process. This article contains evidence based practice for preventing infection that frequently encountered in intensive care unit. We consider that this information can be guide for nursing practice.
