The perspectives of nursing students about feedback in clinical education
Abstract :
Aim: The aim of the study was determined to perspectives of nursing students about feedback in clinical education. Methods: A descriptive qualitative research design was used. 32 students who have accepted to participate in the research comprised the sample. Interviews were semi-structured with open-ended. Data were analyzed by means of qualitative content analysis. Results: Three main themes emerged. These are; difficulties in the process of receiving feedback, conditions affecting the students feedback giving and students inability to accept feedback. Students had difficulty in accepting negative feedback due to the fact that the educators had different expectations. Conclusion: Planning which is oriented to decrease the differences between the educators’ expectations in the clinic and to develop their feedback giving skills is recommended
