Developing, Reliability and Validation of Sexuality Assessment Information Test Prepared for Nursing Students

Aim: This study was carried out in order to determine validity and reliability of Sexuality Assessment Information Test (SAIT) to be used in the evaluation of Improvement Program of Sexuality Evaluation Skill developed towards nursing students. Method: In this study that carried out as methodologically, multiple choice test (five choice) which is composed of 51 questions was prepared in order to determine sexuality assessment information of nursing students. Content validity of the test was done in accordance with the expert opinion. Necessary correction were done in the information test according to the expert opinions and the test was applied on final year students (n=90) at Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Health Sciences, Nursing Department. Data were evaluated in SPSS 14 package program. Correlation of item difficulty and item discrimination values were calculated in the statistical analysis. Cronbach alpha reliability was calculated in order to determine internal consistency of questions in the information test, Results: As a result of the analyses, questions that did not work were excluded or necessary corrections were done and finally test was prepared including 32 questions. Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient was found to be 0,76.Conclusion: Resuts from obtained this study show that Sexuality Assessment Information Test was a measurement tool with high reliability and validity to determine the sexuality assessment information of nursing students.
