Abstract :
Objective: The aim of the study, was to develop the scale of perceived spousal support among women in the early postpartum period. Method: The scale articles are prepared by the researcher according to the related literature and by interviewing with the referees who work on the subject. There are totally 22 items in the item pool.The draft scale with the testing purpose is re-organized with 25 items according to the content anallyses of the content validity ındex (CVI) from referees. In Istanbul, the draft scale is applied to a total of 240 women who gave birth in perinatology ward in a universty hospital and state hospital. Women were interviewed by the researcher after birth. Results: The scale’s Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) coefficient is found 0.90 and Barlett’s Test significance value is found 0.000. The total item correlations of the scale is found between 0.40-0.64 and their factoral loading change between 0.37-0.76. The Cronbach’s-alpha reliability number is found as 0.87. As a result of the factorial analysis that is performed, we developed the 3 factor scale which explains 51.376% of the total variance with 16 item in the “The scale of perceived spousal support among women in the early postpartum period”. Conclusion: Analyses show that the scale has acceptable level of effectiveness according to its structural specifications and internal consistency.
