Abstract :
Objective: This study was carried out as descriptive to identify students views and determine the difficulties of 3rd grade nursing students in a Hospital Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinics who engaged in clinical practice while caring foreign patients Methods: The sample consisted of 33 students who engaged in clinical practice in Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinics and agreed to participate in the study between October-December 2015. The 21-item questionnaire that developed by the researcher was used to collect data. Results: During the study, it was indicated that 97% of students didn’t receive training for foreign medical care and 93.9% needed training. All of the students stated that they had difficulty in giving care to foreign patients. As a solution, 51.5% of students indicated to increase the number of translators and 9.1% stated to give Turkish education to foreign patients in order to get better quality care. Conclusion: It can be said that nursing students have difficulty in giving care to the foreign patients and analytical work needs to be done in this area.
