Abstract
al-Hamzah holds a smaller place in Ilm al-nahw than it holds in Ilm alsarf and qira’at. al-Hamzah is one of the sounds of the Arabic Language and it is a letter that is taken up widely. It has specific characteristics. By joining other sounds it takes an active part in the word structure. al- Hamzah is a letter from meâni’l-hurûf, when it is al-hamzah al-istifham or al-hamzah al-nida. In this article we will try to take up these two kinds of hamzah that has a great place in compounds of al-nahw.
